Lægekokleare
Opdagedes i 1557 af en tysk læge Johann Wier som et virksomt middel mod skørbug, hvorfor planten fik tilnavnet skørbugsurt. Munkelægerne havde dog før den tid kendt planten som sund spise.

Echtes Löffelkraut (DE)
Wurde 1557 vom deutschen Arzt Johan Wier als wirksames Heilmittel gegen Skorbut entdeckt, weshalb das Kraut auch Skorbutgras genannt wird. Das Löffelkraut oder die Kokleare war doch schon früher von den Mönchen als gesundes Nahrungsmittel anerkannt.

Scurvygrass (ENG)
Discovered in 1557 by the German doctor Johann Wier as an effective remedy for scurvy, it was, therefore, called scurvy grass. Medical monks had, however, earlier known the plant to be healthy to eat.
